January 2016 Wrap Up

WHAT I READ

The Opposite of Loneliness by Marina Keegan (3,5 Star)
I always have a hard time with books that have essays and short stories, because I like some of them, but I never like all of them. That was the case with this book, I only liked half of the essays and stories. Nonetheless, while I was reading this book and after I finished it, I felt this incredible desire and inspiration to write more, and I feel that just because of that, reading this book was a great experience. (Full Review)

Faith and Moonlight by Mark Gelineau and Joe King (4 Stars)

I really enjoyed this novella, it had a really captivating world and magic system, the writing was really good, and the ending left me wanting to read the next novella really soon. (Full Review)

The Hero and the Crown  by Robin McKinley (3,7 Stars)

I read this as part of the Flights of Fantasy book club. I liked the main character and I really liked the fact that there were dragons in this story, I had never read a book with dragons. There were a few things in the second part of the book that I would change, plotwise, but overall it was a good book.

Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard (3,7 Stars)

I read this as part of a buddy read for the RockMyTBR. This book lacked originality both in characters and plot, but it was really  entertaining and the writing was really good.

The Fever Series by Karen Marioe Moning

I read the first 3 books of the series: Darkfever, Bloodfever, and Faefever. I'm really liking the series so far.  My favorite part was the slow-burn romance, the setting of the book: Irland, and all the mitology involved. (I talk more about the series here

Truthwitch by Susan Dennard (4,2 Stars)

I loved the characters, the writing, the world, the magic system, the action... basically everything. I wish there was a little more explanation about how the world and magic system worked, at the beggining of the book. But everything else was amazing!

Beyond the Stars by Stacy Wise (3,5 Stars)

I though this books was cute and entertaining. The main characters was well developed and the writing went well with the book. I liked the relationship between the main characters, even if the transition into a romances could have been done better. (Full Review)

The three reviews that are missing will be posted soon!

WHAT I POSTED

Here are all the posts that weren't reviews.

2016 Reading Challenges I talk about the challenges I'm participating in, and what my goals are for each of them.

December 2015 Wrap Up I read a total of 8 books in december, if you want to know which books and what I thought about them, check the post!

3 Books I Couldn't Finish I talk about the 3 books I couldn't finish  that I remember the most: the third book in a popular series (a lot of people agree with me on this one), a book by an author everyone loves (including me!), and a 2015 release (that most people loved)

Good Books / Bad Covers #1 it's a new feature/weekly meme here at Bookish Wanderess. The idea behind it is to say "Hey, I know this book has a really bad cover, but the book itself is really good. You should read it!"  In the first post, I talk about Richelle mead's books.

Disappointing Books I talk about books that, at one point in my life, I had huge expectations for and that I ended up not enjoying as much as I thought I would.

Good Books/ Bad Covers #2  I talk about the Fever series by Karen Marie Moning.

That's it for january! Let me the links to your wrap ups, I would love to check them out!
